Sunny School students go on a number of different field trips throughout the year to get some hands on experience and learn about the local culture. These trips are a lot of fun and very interesting for the students! This past week we went on a field trip to a local tea plantation.
Students got to learn all about Chinese tea. They got to experience how it is grown and processed. Also, they learned about Chinese tea culture from ancient times up to the modern era.
First up on the field trip students got to see a local tea field. They learned about how the tea is grown and even got to go and hand pick their own tea leaves.
After picking tea leaves the kids got to learn about how the tea leaves are turned into tea that you can drink. The tea leaves are sorted, processed, dried, and stored.
Last on the agenda students got to learn about Chinese tea culture. They learned about how tea culture started and what it is like now. Also, they learned the proper etiquette for tea ceremonies. Lastly the kids got to learn about different types of tea and of course got to taste some wonderful tea!
The field trip was a lot of fun and was a great way to learn and be apart of the local culture. It was a great experience to be apart of!
